Redemption at Anfield: How Liverpool’s £86m star turned a snub into a ‘blessing in disguise’

According to GIVEMESPORT, Liverpool’s failure to secure Jude Bellingham’s signature this summer could actually work in their favor. The highly sought-after midfielder had long been targeted by the Reds, but they have since shifted their focus to other options. Renowned transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has reported that Bellingham is set to join Real Madrid in a blockbuster deal worth at least €100 million (£86 million), making him the new face of Los Blancos’ midfield.

Liverpool fans were initially disappointed by the missed opportunity, envisioning Bellingham as the rightful successor to Steven Gerrard’s legacy. However, some voices now argue that this turn of events might not be the worst outcome for the club. Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth, speaking to GIVEMESPORT, suggested that Liverpool may have dodged a bullet by not acquiring Bellingham.

Sheth explained, “While Liverpool were interested in Bellingham, it appears that he is heading to Real Madrid. Is it a blow for Liverpool? Yes, because they probably wanted him, but when considering the amount of money they would have had to spend on Bellingham, it becomes evident that strengthening the midfield requires more than just one player.”

He further stated, “Undoubtedly, signing Bellingham would have been incredible. However, they may need one or two additional midfielders alongside him. So, in the end, missing out on Bellingham could potentially be a blessing in disguise, as the funds initially earmarked for him could now be utilized to secure two or three new midfielders.”

Liverpool’s pursuit of midfield reinforcements is already underway, with manager Jurgen Klopp reportedly aiming to bring in two or three players in that position. One of the main alternatives to Bellingham is Alexis Mac Allister, who is keen on a move to Anfield despite Liverpool failing to secure a top-four finish. Additionally, Mason Mount is heavily linked to a potential move to Merseyside, with Liverpool emerging as frontrunners in the race for the Chelsea midfielder’s signature, according to The Athletic.

Surprisingly, reports from Italy indicate that Inter Milan star Nicolo Barella has also become a target for Klopp’s side, although his current club is reluctant to part ways with one of their prized assets. As Liverpool recalibrate their midfield plans, missing out on Bellingham could ultimately prove to be a fortunate turn of events.
