Harvey Elliott’s Fiery Response to Mo Salah’s Liverpool Goal Against LASK Takes Center Stage
In a dramatic Europa League group stage encounter on Thursday, Liverpool clawed their way back to a thrilling 3-1 victory over LASK after falling behind early. Darwin Nunez leveled the score following Florian Flecker’s remarkable opener, and Luis Diaz subsequently put the Reds in the lead.
However, it was Mo Salah’s late-game heroics that sealed the win in the 88th minute, but not without sparking some intriguing emotions within the Liverpool camp.
Nunez beautifully set up Salah, who elegantly weaved through LASK’s defense before slipping the ball through the goalkeeper’s legs with his left foot, netting a breathtaking solo goal. Yet, it was the reaction of at least one Liverpool player, Harvey Elliott, that caught the attention of fans.
With multiple players positioned in the box and awaiting a potential pass from Salah, including Elliott himself, the Egyptian forward opted for glory on his own, leaving Elliott with what seemed like a straightforward tap-in opportunity. However, the young England Under-21 international’s disappointment at not receiving the pass was palpable.
Elliott’s discontent did not go unnoticed by the keen-eyed spectators, who took to social media to express their observations. One fan remarked, “Elliott appeared visibly disappointed that he didn’t receive the pass, but Salah did what he does best.”

Another commented, “Even after Salah scored, Elliott seemed to be complaining about not getting the pass. Salah doesn’t need your approval.”
A third added, “Harvey Elliott seemed upset that he didn’t get the pass. Shouldn’t he just be delighted that Salah scored?”
Yet another fan noted, “Elliott was clearly not thrilled that Salah scored such a spectacular goal instead of passing to him.”
And a fifth fan humorously stated, “Elliott was grumbling about Salah not passing, even though he scored! Haha.”
As Liverpool gears up for their upcoming clash against West Ham at Anfield on Sunday, and with a European showdown against Union Saint-Gilloise on the horizon, the dynamics within the team promise to remain intriguing and electric.
