Alexis Mac Allister Expresses Frustration Over EA FC Rating Parity with Darwin Nunez, Arguing for an Upgrade
In the world of virtual football, the release of EA FC 24, EA Sports’ latest football video game without the FIFA branding, has caused quite a stir. Promising to be the most immersive football gaming experience in its three-decade history, the game has finally hit the global market after much anticipation.
As part of the game’s launch, a video showcasing Liverpool players’ reactions to their in-game ratings was unveiled on Friday morning. Among the notable moments was Alexis Mac Allister’s response to discovering that he shared the same rating as Darwin Nunez, a revelation that left the Liverpool star feeling less than thrilled.
Diogo Jota playfully inquired of the Argentine, “Are you happy with the same rating as Darwin (Nunez)?”
Mac Allister’s response was one of clear disappointment: “How much?”
Upon learning that both he and Nunez were rated at 82, Mac Allister couldn’t hide his dissatisfaction, stating, “No, it should be higher.”
Analyzing his in-game statistics, the Argentine remarked, “Pace 70?”
Jota seized the opportunity for a lighthearted jab, jesting, “Yeah, you’re not very quick.”
Ibrahima Konate chimed in, adding, “But 82? Normally, with the World Cup, you have to be at least 85. But I don’t care because you beat me in the World Cup.”
Mac Allister, who made a high-profile move from Brighton and Hove Albion to Liverpool during the summer transfer window for a reported fee of £35 million, has been adapting to a somewhat unfamiliar defensive midfield role at his new club.
Speaking to TNT Sports, Mac Allister shared his thoughts on mastering this new position, saying, “I like it (playing in a deeper role). Of course, I have to defend a bit more, but that’s not a problem for me because I’m a team player.”
Understanding the intricacies of the game is essential for players, and Mac Allister is no exception. He expressed his commitment to enhancing his understanding of the game, emphasizing, “It’s so important for the players to understand the game, and that’s what I try to improve every day. Then you can play as an eight, six, or 10, wherever.”
Continuing, he explained his evolving role: “Now I’m playing as a six, which is a new position for me, but it’s a position I really like. I can do it, and I can help the team from there.”
As Liverpool prepares to face Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League on Saturday evening, Alexis Mac Allister, despite his virtual rating disappointment, remains a dynamic asset for the club, showcasing his adaptability and dedication on and off the pitch.
