Al Ittihad Star Encourages Mo Salah to Decline Saudi Pro League Move Amid Liverpool’s Anticipation of a Massive Offer

Calls for Mohamed Salah to Decline Move to Al Ittihad Amidst Ongoing Interest from Saudi Pro League

Mohamed Salah, the prolific Liverpool forward, has received counsel from a current Al Ittihad player, advising him against a potential move to the Saudi Pro League club.

Reports emerged of persistent interest from the Saudi league during the summer, with Al Ittihad making multiple attempts to secure Salah’s services. However, Liverpool stood firm, rejecting a verbal offer of £150 million before the transfer deadline.

Despite initial interest, Al Ittihad remains eager to secure Salah’s signature in future transfer windows. Recent speculation, as reported by the Daily Mail, suggests that the club is eyeing former Reds sporting director Julian Ward to bolster their recruitment efforts under new head coach Marcelo Gallardo.

This move potentially signifies Al Ittihad’s determination to pursue Salah, with rumors hinting at an imminent bid in the coming month.

Salah, whose contract with Anfield runs until 2025, achieved a milestone by scoring his 200th goal for Liverpool in a recent 2-1 victory over Crystal Palace. He continues to excel this season with 11 goals in 17 Premier League appearances, trailing only behind Manchester City’s Erling Haaland, who has scored 14.

While potential new signings for Al Ittihad, such as Karim Benzema, N’Golo Kante, and Luis Felipe, might anticipate Salah’s arrival, one prominent Al Ittihad figure, former Liverpool midfielder Fabinho, expressed his reluctance to see Salah join their ranks.

Contrary to personal animosity, Fabinho emphasized Salah’s contentment at Anfield and his own desire to see the Egyptian stay—particularly in the immediate future.

In an interview with talkSPORT following Al Ittihad’s 3-0 victory over Auckland City in the Club World Cup, Fabinho remarked, “At present, Mo Salah is content at Liverpool. He consistently delivers goals and stands as their standout performer. I’m genuinely pleased for Mo.”

“He will remain at Liverpool this season, and I sincerely wish him continued success—hoping he maintains his goal-scoring form and secures more trophies for Liverpool,” Fabinho continued.

“I am truly delighted for the team. They currently lead the league, although there’s much football left to play in the Premier League, with strong competition from clubs like Arsenal, Manchester City, and even Aston Villa, who are impressing this season.”
