Jota had this to say about Bernardo Silva: “Bernardo Silva, for me, is one of the most intelligent football players, for sure, I’ve known. The way he can hide the ball from the opponents is special. I think I’ll go for him.”
Bernardo Silva has been a key figure at Manchester City since his arrival from Monaco in 2017. During his time at the club, he has played a pivotal role in helping Pep Guardiola’s team secure five Premier League titles and one Champions League trophy. With over 200 appearances for City, the 29-year-old midfielder recently committed his future to the club by signing a contract extension until 2026.
Comparisons between Bernardo Silva and Liverpool’s own midfield maestro, Thiago, are inevitable. Thiago also joined Liverpool in the same summer as Jota. Notably, Liverpool bolstered their midfield this summer by signing Alexis Mac Allister, Dominik Szoboszlai, and Ryan Gravenberch, following the departures of key players like Fabinho and Jordan Henderson, who headed to the Saudi Pro League.
