Dominik Szoboszlai’s eagerly awaited £60 million transfer from RB Leipzig to Liverpool has not only sparked excitement among supporters but also presented them with a linguistic challenge: how to correctly pronounce his surname. As the Hungarian midfielder follows in the footsteps of club legend Steven Gerrard, who also wore the No. 8 shirt, fans are eager to familiarize themselves with Szoboszlai’s name before he takes the Anfield stage next season.

Recognizing the difficulty fans face, the 22-year-old himself graciously stepped in to offer some guidance on pronouncing—or even singing—his name. However, as time passed and his performances on the pitch endeared him to the Anfield faithful, Tsimikas quickly became a beloved figure among supporters.

Szoboszlai arrives at Liverpool with an impressive reputation, having notched 10 goals and provided 13 assists for RB Leipzig across all competitions last season.
