Jack Robinson’s Classy Response to ‘Feed the Scousers’ Chant Amidst Sheffield United vs. Liverpool Clash
During the Sheffield United versus Liverpool clash, defender Jack Robinson showcased a remarkable response when his own team’s supporters initiated the ‘feed the Scousers’ chant. Despite the Blades’ ongoing struggles in the Premier League, their encounter against Jurgen Klopp’s side ended in a 2-0 defeat, further solidifying their position at the bottom of the table.
Liverpool secured the lead with Virgil van Dijk’s powerful header just before halftime, and Dominik Szoboszlai, a summer signing, sealed the victory with a goal in stoppage time.
Despite the loss, Sheffield United fans continued chanting the well-known ‘Feed the Scousers’ refrain aimed at the traveling supporters. The chant, set to the tune of Band Aid’s ‘Feed the World,’ has been in existence since the release of the Christmas hit in 1984.
However, Robinson, the Sheffield United defender, was unimpressed by his own fans’ actions and responded bluntly by turning towards the crowd and stating, “I’m a Scouser!”
Notably, the 30-year-old began his career at Anfield in 2009 but embarked on loan spells to Wolves, Blackpool, and Huddersfield. He eventually secured a permanent move to Queens Park Rangers in 2014. Following a stint at Nottingham Forest, Robinson made his way to Bramall Lane, where he has played a pivotal role in their journey back to the Premier League over the past five seasons.

Following the match, new manager Chris Wilder expressed his pride in the team’s performance, stressing the need for consistent efforts rather than sporadic displays.
“I’m proud, but it can’t be a one-off,” Wilder emphasized. “We can’t rely solely on the new manager bounce. Despite posing challenges for Liverpool, I’m slightly disappointed that we didn’t secure a better outcome.”
Klopp, in his post-match reflections, expressed contentment with the result and highlighted various positive aspects of the game while acknowledging room for improvement in their gameplay.
“I’m pleased with the result and several aspects of our performance,” said the German manager. “We have the potential to play better football, especially during this congested period, where winning, recovering, and playing again is crucial.”
