Levi Colwill’s uncomfortable response on Instagram Live when asked about Liverpool transfer rumors
Chelsea defender Levi Colwill found himself at the center of attention after an Instagram live session in which he was questioned about a potential move to Liverpool, leaving fans intrigued.
In recent weeks, there have been persistent rumors surrounding Colwill’s future following his impressive loan spell at Brighton and Hove Albion.
Despite having a contract that runs until the summer of 2025, the 20-year-old has been linked with a departure from Stamford Bridge.
During his holiday, Colwill faced a question about joining Liverpool in an Instagram live session. The exchange was captured on video, and you can watch it below.
Colwill was informed, “Even my Jamaican bredrens [mates] are saying Levi to Liverpool.” In response, the Chelsea player replied, “[I] said no football talk, man.”
Social media erupted with fans sharing their reactions to the video.
One user remarked, “Did you hear that giggle from Colwill? He’s definitely coming to Liverpool.”
Another tweet read, “That settles it. Colwill to Liverpool is confirmed.”
A third fan added, “The awkward silence is absolutely priceless.”
Someone else wrote, “Liverpool fans are really going all out on the Levi Colwill agenda. From Enzo to Jude B, and now this.”
Meanwhile, another comment stated, “Here we go again. Does he know something we don’t? LFC should sign him up!”
After helping England secure the U21 Euro title in Georgia last week, Colwill discussed his future plans.
He stated, “I’ll have discussions with my family and everyone involved to make a decision. Ultimately, I need to play to have a chance at reaching the [England] senior team and progress to the next camp.”
Reports suggest that Chelsea’s new manager, Mauricio Pochettino, intends to hold talks with Colwill upon his return for pre-season.
Brighton has reportedly had two bids for the defender rejected by Chelsea so far, as the club remains adamant that Colwill is not for sale.
Chelsea’s 2023/24 Premier League campaign will commence with a highly anticipated showdown against Liverpool at Stamford Bridge, adding an extra layer of intrigue to the ongoing transfer speculation surrounding Colwill.
