Liverpool Fans Playfully Rib Richard Keys for Mohamed Salah Al Ittihad Tweet

As the summer transfer window drew to a close, Liverpool supporters were taken aback by reports linking their star player, Salah, with a potential move to the Saudi Professional League side, Al Ittihad. Despite Jurgen Klopp, Liverpool’s manager, emphatically stating that Salah was not available for sale, the transfer rumors persisted.

In the midst of the transfer saga, Richard Keys took to social media to confidently assert that the deal to take Salah to Al Ittihad was a done deal. Keys wrote on Twitter, “I’m always happy to open for apologies. Those that abused me as usual – message now. Mighty @beINSPORTS_EN were spot on when I said Salah might be playing his last game at Newcastle. It’ll be v Villa now. The deal will get done next week. There’s no need to rush it though today.”

However, contrary to Keys’ prediction, Salah remained with Liverpool as the Saudi transfer window closed without any transfer taking place.

Liverpool fans wasted no time in poking fun at Keys. One fan tweeted, “Thoughts and Prayers with you today @richardajkeys. We openly await your apology.” Another quipped, “Bro thought he got the inside scoop.” A third fan chimed in, saying, “That’s strange, I thought the deal was meant to go through this week? Salah doesn’t look like he’s joined the Saudi Pro League now, has he? Seems like the mighty beINSPORTS_EN weren’t very spot on at all. Far from it. You can try again next year.”

Someone else offered a tongue-in-cheek comment, stating, “Apologies if the reality is too painful for you to take.” And a fifth fan summarized the sentiment with a simple, “Looooooooooooooooooool anti Liverpool Richard Keys yet again.”

While Liverpool firmly rejected any notion of selling Salah, reports suggest that Al Ittihad may still harbor hopes of luring the Egyptian to the Middle East and could revisit their interest in future transfer windows.
