Mohamed Salah’s Liverpool Contract Negotiations Unveiled in Groundbreaking Harvard Research
In a captivating turn of events, Mohamed Salah has opened the doors to his Liverpool contract negotiations, offering an extraordinary look at the process through the lens of a Harvard Business School study.
Just a year ago, uncertainties loomed over Salah’s future with Liverpool as reports surfaced, hinting at a possible contract impasse between the club and the Egyptian forward.
However, the clouds of doubt quickly dissipated when it was officially announced that Salah had inked a new contract extension, securing his presence at Anfield until 2025.
Following his dazzling performance against West Ham United last Sunday, Salah took to social media to share an intriguing Harvard study that delved deep into the intricacies of his contract discussions.
The study revealed a pivotal phone conversation between Salah and his agent, Ramy Abbas Issa, wherein Issa expressed his growing concerns: “I am starting to fear that we may not be able to come to an agreement on a new contract, Mohamed – their latest offer is still very far from what we want.”
Salah’s response was equally candid: “I want to stay with Liverpool, but the club needs to show that they want me to stay as well.”
The document explored complex themes, such as the ethical dilemmas surrounding a potential transfer and the history of Salah’s relationship with Issa.
On the subject of Issa, Salah emphasized their partnership, saying, “We are partners. I know he’ll always do what is best for me.”
Fast forward to July 2022, when Salah eventually put pen to paper on his new contract. Speaking to the club’s official website, he shared his excitement: “I feel great and [I am] excited to win trophies with the club. It’s a happy day for everyone.”
He acknowledged the time and effort it took to finalize the deal, adding, “It takes a little bit of time, I think, to renew, but now everything is done so we just need to focus on what’s next.”
Salah’s optimism was palpable as he looked ahead: “I think we are in a good position to fight for everything. We have new signings as well. We just need to keep working hard, have a good vision, be positive and go for everything again.”
