Richard Keys Points Finger at Jurgen Klopp Following Kostas Tsimikas’ Collarbone Injury against Arsenal

Richard Keys has seemingly placed responsibility on Jurgen Klopp for the injury suffered by Kostas Tsimikas following a collision with Bukayo Saka during the Liverpool vs. Arsenal clash.

The Saturday showdown between Liverpool and Arsenal at Anfield showcased an intense battle between the top teams in the Premier League. Gabriel Magalhaes swiftly put the Gunners in the lead with a header within the initial five minutes, but Mohamed Salah equalized just before the half-hour mark.

However, the equilibrium was disrupted when Tsimikas and Saka collided near Klopp, resulting in a suspected broken collarbone for the Liverpool full-back, necessitating his substitution.

In a social media post addressing the incident, Keys seemed to hold Klopp accountable, stating, “It’s ironic that Klopp, alongside Arteta in the opposing technical area, illustrates why a coach’s proximity to the playing area can be perilous.”

Further discussing the matter on beIN Sports, Keys emphasized, “The risk of coaches being too close to the field – and I’ve highlighted this since identifying Arteta as a repeat offender – is evident in situations like this.”

In response after the match, Klopp expressed his dismay over Tsimikas’ injury, stating, “He [Tsimikas] suffered a broken collarbone, which is a significant setback for us. I’d gladly trade my collarbone to ensure Kostas’ recovery.”

Reflecting on the incident involving himself and Tsimikas, Klopp commented, “I was unharmed. Naturally, it’s disconcerting when such an incident occurs right in front of you, and you’re inadvertently involved. I wasn’t certain if I had landed on him or how it transpired. These situations shouldn’t occur.”

Liverpool’s next Premier League fixture is scheduled for Boxing Day against Burnley, the newly-promoted side, at Turf Moor.
