Thuram’s Liverpool Transfer Speculation Intensifies as He Drops Clue on Mac Allister’s Instagram Post
In the midst of reports suggesting Alexis Mac Allister’s imminent transfer to Liverpool, Nice midfielder Khephren Thuram has added fuel to the speculation fire with his recent response.
Mac Allister, the 24-year-old talent from Brighton, appears to be on the verge of joining Liverpool after reportedly reaching a personal agreement with the Merseyside club. Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano took to Twitter to confirm the Argentina international’s move, stating that Liverpool had completed a full agreement on the contract, expected to be valid until June 2028. Romano further mentioned that the Reds would activate a release clause in Mac Allister’s contract at the Amex Stadium, with the fee being significantly lower than the initially reported £60 million. Medical tests are scheduled to take place within the next 24 to 48 hours.
Mac Allister’s potential transfer sets the stage for Liverpool’s first signing in the upcoming transfer window, which officially commences for English clubs on June 14. The club is also expected to bolster their midfield options after a challenging season, with Borussia Monchengladbach’s Manu Kone and Nice’s Khephren Thuram being linked to a move to Anfield.
Khephren Thuram, aged 22, has captured Liverpool’s attention through his performances, making 48 appearances across all competitions for Nice this season and scoring two goals. Speculation intensified when Thuram interacted with an Instagram post related to Mac Allister’s imminent transfer to Liverpool. The post, shared by 4-3-3, featured an image of Mac Allister celebrating in a Liverpool shirt.
According to reports from L’Equipe, Liverpool is preparing an offer for Thuram, and Nice would be open to his departure if their asking price of €40 million (£34.5 million) is met. However, Thuram himself has publicly downplayed the possibility of leaving the French club during the summer transfer window.
During the UNFP Trophies ceremony, Thuram expressed his contentment with Nice, stating, “I want to progress, go on the field, have fun. For now, I’m in Nice. It’s going very well. I really like the club, so I still see myself in Nice. I am very well in Nice.”
While acknowledging the transfer rumors, Thuram praised caretaker manager Didier Digard, expressing gratitude for the support he received during challenging periods in his young career. Thuram also mentioned his desire for Digard to continue leading the team, emphasizing the positive impact the coach had on the squad.
As the transfer window approaches, Liverpool fans eagerly await further developments regarding the potential acquisitions of Mac Allister and Thuram, hoping to witness a strengthened midfield ahead of the new season.
