Unveiling the unconventional element fueling Dominik Szoboszlai’s technique
Liverpool’s newest acquisition, Dominik Szoboszlai, has disclosed the intriguing secret behind his impressive technique on the field. The rumors of Liverpool’s interest in the Hungarian midfielder were confirmed last week, and on Sunday, the club officially announced the signing of the 22-year-old from RB Leipzig, having triggered his £60 million release clause.
Liverpool fans have been eagerly anticipating Szoboszlai’s arrival, particularly after watching captivating highlights videos circulating on social media. In a surprising revelation, Szoboszlai attributes his remarkable technique to his foot size.
According to Magyar Nemzet, Szoboszlai explained, “I have very small feet, only size 41 (UK 7), but I am also tall, 186 cm, and this gives the ball a special trajectory.” This intriguing combination of small feet and height contributes to his unique style of play.
In the 2022/2023 season, Szoboszlai showcased his talent by notching an impressive record of 10 goals and 13 assists in 46 appearances across all competitions for RB Leipzig.
Expressing his excitement upon joining Liverpool, Szoboszlai shared, “It’s really, really good. I enjoyed the last [few] days, and I’m looking forward to getting to know everybody better. The last three or four days felt quite long; it wasn’t that easy. But in the end, I’m here, I’m happy, and I can’t wait to get started.”
Commenting on his choice of shirt number, Szoboszlai will proudly don the iconic number 8, which was previously worn by Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard. When asked about his decision, Szoboszlai revealed, “There isn’t a special reason, but of course, it’s a great number that many outstanding players have worn. Additionally, I have a tattoo of something Steven Gerrard said—I don’t even remember when, but it was before. That was also a reason why I chose it.”
With Szoboszlai’s intriguing technique, impressive statistics, and enthusiasm to contribute to Liverpool, fans are eagerly anticipating the impact he will make wearing the historic number 8 jersey.
