Fabrizio Romano’s Revelations on Victor Osimhen Amidst Buzz of Liverpool Contract Agreement

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has shed light on the ongoing speculation surrounding Napoli’s Victor Osimhen and a potential move to Liverpool. The Nigerian international’s future has been the subject of much discussion since Napoli shared a TikTok video that appeared to mock him following a missed penalty in a game against Bologna. Osimhen’s agent, Roberto Calenda, condemned the video as “unacceptable” and mentioned the possibility of legal action. To add to the intrigue, Osimhen has not yet extended his contract with Napoli, which runs until 2025. Napoli’s president, Aurelio de Laurentiis, has hinted that Osimhen may not commit to a new contract.

Italian journalist Valter Di Maggio has reported that Liverpool is keen on signing the striker next summer and suggested that an agreement between Osimhen, Calenda, and Liverpool has been reached. This development has caused Osimhen to rethink his future in Italy. However, the stumbling block for Liverpool could be the transfer fee, as De Laurentiis is reportedly demanding €170 million this summer for his prized asset. The situation might change if Liverpool decides to sell Mohamed Salah to Al Ittihad, with Osimhen being considered as a potential replacement if Salah opts to leave next summer.

In the midst of these rumors, Fabrizio Romano has provided an update on Osimhen’s potential move to Anfield, and it may not be the news Liverpool supporters were hoping for. Speaking on his YouTube channel, Romano clarified, “From what I’m told, Victor Osimhen hasn’t agreed to terms with any club, not even Napoli. There’s no agreement in place for a contract extension.” He also mentioned that Napoli has made a substantial contract proposal, offering Osimhen a significant salary, which would be the highest in Napoli’s history. However, Osimhen has yet to make a decision.

Furthermore, Romano addressed the reports of an agreement between Osimhen and Liverpool, stating, “Reports of an agreement with Liverpool are not true.” This may disappoint Liverpool fans who were eager to see the talented striker join their ranks.

Nevertheless, Romano did offer a glimmer of hope for Liverpool supporters by noting, “For sure, Liverpool, as well as many other clubs, are closely monitoring the situations of various strikers. But as for Osimhen, nothing has been finalized or decided at this moment.” The situation remains fluid, and Liverpool’s pursuit of Osimhen is far from over.
