In a recent interview on Sky Sports’ Monday Night Football, former Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge shared his thoughts on Nunez’s potential improvement. Sturridge praised Nunez’s attacking style, emphasizing his runs behind the defense and the excitement he brings to the game. Drawing from his own experience, Sturridge shared a story about how former Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti used a DVD of Filippo Inzaghi to improve his own runs in behind. He emphasized that Nunez needed coaching and specific training sessions to work on his runs at pace and develop various finishing techniques. Sturridge highlighted the importance of remaining composed and relaxed in front of the goal.
Sturridge also recommended that Nunez seek advice from Liverpool legends like Luis Suarez, Fernando Torres, or Ian Rush to further enhance his finishing abilities. He emphasized the value of learning different types of finishes to become a more versatile striker.
