“I was 18, playing for the Under-21s, the first-ever time at Anfield, got beat 3-0. He scored two and got an assist. I came off at 60… Still to this day, he’s the opponent I think that just destroyed me, man. I’ve never had it like that before,” Alexander-Arnold admitted.
He went on to express his admiration for Barker’s speed, sharpness, and effectiveness on the field, even suggesting that he believed Barker would become the best player in the world at that time.
However, despite the promise he showed, Brandon Barker didn’t manage to break into Manchester City’s first team.
