Mane snubs Salah when picking best finisher he has played alongside

Ex-Liverpool forward Sadio Mane has bizarrely snubbed his former teammates Mohamed Salah in favour of Divock Origi when asked to select the best finisher he has played during his entire career.

The Senegalese forward represented one third of a lethal attacking force alongside Roberto Firmino. Mane lifted the Premier League title, the Champions League, the FA Cup and a whole host of other titles under Jurgen Klopp before a summer switch to German giants Bayern Munich.

Considering Mohamed Salah’s 174-goal haul for the Merseyside Reds since his arrival, it would have been understandable that the Egyptian would be named as one of Sadio Mane’s most lethal teammates. That is not quite the case though.

Asked by 1teamsports on TikTok who the best finisher he has played with Mane named Divock Origi. The Belgian forward was not the most prolific during his time at Anfield with 41 strikes in 175 games.

He became a cult hero after playing a key role in the win against Barcelona.

Speaking last campaign after Divock Origi had once again scored against Everton, the German said: “He [Origi] is a legend on and off the pitch. Fantastic footballer, a world class striker and is our best finisher.

“Everyone would say the same. You see this in training. It is a really hard decision to make to leave him out. Everyone loves Divock here.”

Despite the reports by both Mane and Klopp, Origi has endured somewhat of a nightmare spell since depart from Liverpool. He sign for Italian giants AC Milan on a free transfer at the end of his deal at Anfield.

The 27-year-old forward has found back of the net just twice in 21 games in all competitions since his move and has embarrassingly been named as Serie A’s worst signing of the campaign. He was not the only one of Mane’s ex-Liverpool colleagues to get a mention.

Mane also snubbed Virgil van Dijk as the best defender he played with and pitched his Senegal teammate Kalidou Koulibaly.
