Jordan Henderson’s shares inspiring story about Jurgen Klopp

Liverpool Football Club have endured a tough 2022/23 campaign to date.

Despite a couple of recent wins against Everton and Newcastle United restoring their top four hopes, German manager, Jurgen Klopp will be left with a bitter taste in his mouth as he looks back to the Reds 2022/23 season this year.

After challenging for what would have been a historic quadruple last campaign to now sitting eighth place in the English top-tier and being eliminated from both domestic cup competitions, dealing with setbacks like this isn’t for the feint hearted.

Fortunately, Jurgen Klopp certainly is not that – and thanks to him, neither are his club.

Formerly called ‘mentality monsters’, German boss main attribute in the eyes of many is his ability to man manage his players.

Every single players that wears the Merseyside Reds kit will run through walls for Jurgen Klopp. It was like that at Mainz, it was like that at Borussia Dortmund, and it’s exactly the same story at Anfield.

What did Henderson say about Klopp?

“I can remember losing the Europa League final,” began Henderson. “And that was the second final we lost that year. Going back to the hotel where, if he had won there would have been a party and all that stuff, and as a player, you’re just so down.

“It’s a big moment. You know European final, we lost. You just want to go to bed really and sleep, get up and go back in the morning.

“But I remember there was just a few of us sitting in the corner because he (Klopp) said everybody had to be down in the reception area.

“We’re thinking ‘right, okay…’ so everybody comes down, and we’re sitting in the corner with our tails between our legs. We’ve just lost. It’s that mentality.

“But he’s seen it the complete opposite, come over and just said: ‘are you going to be like this all night? Why are you so miserable? It’s a bad moment, but that’s when you need everyone, that’s when we stick together.'”
