Carragher went on rollercoaster ride of emotions during Liverpool’s 5-2 defeat against Real Madrid
Liverpool legendary defender Jamie Carragher went on rollercoaster ride of emotions in the CBS Sports studio during his former team’s 5-2 lost against defending UCL champions Real Madrid on Tuesday.
Carragher’s beloved Reds were torn apart by the reigning European champions at Anfield.
Goals from Nunez and Salah gave the Merseyside Reds the dream start in this Round of 16 first leg match, however, Real Madrid went on to tie game at the half-time and added three more to their scoresheet in the second half.
Vinicius and Benzema both scored a brace, while Eder Militao also got himself involved in a scoresheet during the rout.
The Gunners legend Thierry Henry said it’s “the end of an era” for the Reds after they conceded five goals at their home ground.
While The Reds aren’t officially out of this season’s Champions League just yet, it will take a minor miracle for Liverpool to overturn a three-goal deficit at the Bernabeu next month.
However, Klopp’s players crumbled after allowing the Los Blancos back into the contest and will now need to pick themselves back off the floor in time for Saturday’s trip to Crystal Palace.
