Liverpool identified Julian Naglesmann as Jurgen Klopp’s possible replacement

German manager Jurgen Klopp’s future at Anfield is under threat as Liverpool have already identified a replacement.

Despite a mini-resurgence in the English top-tier, the Merseyside Reds have endured a torrid campaign. The club sit eighth in the Premier League, some seven points from the top four, while they have been also eliminated from the domestic cups.

Meanwhile, Klopp’s Champions League chances were tempered on Tuesday night, after Liverpool lost a match 2-5 against Real Madrid.

Despite leading 2-0 Real Madrid’s Vinicius Junior and Karim Benzema both scored a brace and helped their side to secure a victory at Anfield.

As the dust settles on the Merseyside Reds humbling evening, reports have emerged that Klopp era at Anfield could be coming to the end.

Is Klopp’s future at Liverpool in doubt?

According to Caught Offside, Liverpool boss has come under severe pressure at Anfield after Tuesday’s seismic loss.

One source told the publication that the teams hierarchy had held conversations before the defeat against Madrid.

Indeed, the source described feelings towards Klopp as “samesy” and in need of “freshening up” with “a lot of players looking like they’ve lost their appetite”.

The publication claimed earlier this month that the German manager’s future at Liverpool coming to the end.

Klopp replacement identified?

The Caught Offside report claimed that the Merseyside Reds decision-makers have earmarked Bayern Munich head-coach Julian Naglesmann as a potential replacement.

However, the publication also claims that should the Liverpool chiefs decide to part ways with Klopp they will afford him the chance to resign for the job he has done at the club since joining them in 2015.

During Klopp’s time with the Premier League giants, the Reds have reached the three Champions League finals, winning Europe’s premier competition back in 2019.

Moreover, in 2020 he secured the Reds’ first league title after three decades of underwhelming domestic performance.
