Liverpool Leading the Race to Secure January Transfer of Prominent Brazilian Star

Liverpool’s pursuit of Fluminense midfielder Andre Trindade is heating up as January approaches. The Reds, who made significant midfield additions in the summer, are now looking to bolster their squad with this talented Brazilian player.

Among Liverpool’s summer acquisitions, Dominik Szoboszlai has truly caught the eye with his performances that have drawn comparisons to club legend Steven Gerrard. However, the club did miss out on a few other targets, including Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia, who opted to join Chelsea instead.

One of the names on Liverpool’s radar was Andre Trindade from Fluminense. Liverpool reportedly made a £25 million approach for the defensive midfielder, but Fluminense was hesitant to part ways with Andre during their Copa Libertadores campaign. However, it seems that a move in January is now inevitable, potentially paving the way for Liverpool to make their move.

Speaking on 90min’s ‘Talking Transfers’ podcast, journalist Graeme Bailey shared his insights, stating, “He really is one on the agenda for January. I’ll be amazed if he doesn’t leave Fluminense. Will it be to Liverpool? I think they’re first in the queue. He’s definitely leaving Fluminense in January, and he may very well be turning up at Anfield.”

Andre Trindade, a combative midfielder, has been a key figure for Fluminense in both the Brazilian Serie A and the Copa Libertadores this year. The club is set to face Argentine giants Boca Juniors in the Libertadores final, scheduled for November 4. At just 22 years of age, Andre has already amassed over 100 appearances for Fluminense since making his senior debut in September 2020, and he achieved a significant milestone earlier this year by earning his first cap for the Brazil national team.

As Liverpool positions themselves at the forefront of the race to sign Andre Trindade, football fans around the world eagerly await his potential arrival at Anfield in January.
